Indian TV stars who became successful film stars

We’ve heard that many people who start their career on TV and try to go to films don’t get much luck, but that’s not the case here as there are many TV actors who are now successful film stars.

1) Shah Rukh Khan
Yes, the King of Bollywood originally started his career by acting in TV shows such as ‘Fauji’ and ‘Circus’. And now he’s one of the most successful film stars worldwide.

2) R.Madhavan
Madhavan originally started his career with TV shows such as ‘Banegi Apni Baat’, ‘Ghar Jamai’, ‘Saaya’ etc. And he’s now one of the most successful actors in both the South and Bollywood film industry.

3) Vidya Balan
Vidya Balan started her career as one of the five girls in the TV sitcom ‘Hum Paanch’. And is now one of the most famous actress, national award winner, known for her female centric roles in films.

4) Prachi Desai
Prachi Desai started her career in the TV show ‘Kasamh Se’ where she got a lot of accolades. She also took part in ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja 2’. She quit ‘Kasamh Se’ to act in the film ‘Rock On!’. ‘Rock On!’ was one of the biggest hits. Though her second film ‘Life Partner’ didn’t click, her third film ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai’ was a huge hit and thus became successful.

5) Irrfan Khan
Irrfan Khan also once started his career in TV shows such as ‘Banegi Apni Baat’, ‘Chanakya’, ‘Chandrakanta’, ‘Bharat Ek Khoj’, ‘Sparsh’ etc. And now he’s one of the most successful actors in both Bollywood and Hollywood.

6) Sushant Singh Rajput
Sushant Singh Rajput started his career in the TV show ‘Kis Des Mein Hain Mera Dil’ where he played the lead’s brother. He then worked in ‘Pavitra Rishta’ as the main lead and also took part in ‘Zara Nachke Dikha 2’ and ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja 4’. He quit Pavitra Rishta and then made his Bollywood debut with the film ‘Kai Po Che’ which was a huge success. His 2nd film ‘Shuddh Desi Romance’ also was a huge success and Sushant recieved rave reviews for his performance in both films. His recent film ‘PK’ also is a huge hit thus making him a successful film star.

7) Pulkit Samrat
Pulkit Samrat started his career in the hit TV show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’ which got him recognition. He also appeared in the reality series ‘Kaho Na Yaar Hai’. Then he went towards Bollywood. Eventhough his first film ‘Bittoo Boss’ was a flop, his 2nd film ‘Fukrey’ became a surprise hit and Pulkit’s performance recieved positive reviews. He’s thus become successful, receiving a lot of film offers.

8) Rajeev Khandelwal
Rajeev Khandelwal started his career in TV shows such as ‘Kahiin Toh Hoga’ (which got him famous), ‘Left Right Left’, ‘Time Bomb 9/11’ etc. and hosted shows like ‘Sach Ka Saamna’.He made his Bollywood debut with the critically acclaimed film ‘Aamir’, where his performance was very well received. His 2nd film ‘Shaitan’ was also critically acclaimed.

9) Ayushmann Khurrana
Ayushmann Khurana started his career by winning the Reality show ‘Roadies’. Then appeared in the show ‘Kayamath’. He also started hosting shows like ‘India’s Got Talent’. His first film ‘Vicky Donor’ was a huge hit and Ayushmaan won so many praises. His song ‘Pani Da Rang’ also topped the charts. He has been getting many offers from Bollywood after that. His 2nd film ‘Nautanki Saala’ also was a success.

10) Manish Paul
Manish Paul started his career as a VJ. He appeared in serials such as ‘Chhoona Hai Aasmaan’ and ‘Ghost Bana Dost’. He also started hosting various shows such as ‘Jhalak Dikhla Ja’. He made his Bollywood debut with ‘Mickey Virus’. Despite being a commercial failure, Manish’s performance was very well received and thus been flooded with film offers.

11) Aditya Roy Kapoor
Aditya Roy Kapoor started his career as a VJ in Channel V. He then tried his luck with Bollywood. Initially his films ‘London Dreams’, ‘Action Replay’ and ‘Guzaarish’ were flops but ‘Aashiqui 2’ became the turning point of his career and his now the most successful actor in Bollywood. His next film ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ also became a hit.

12) Gracy Singh
Gracy Singh who had two blockbusters in her career i.e ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Munnabhai M.B.B.S’ started her career with the TV serial ‘Amaanat’.

13) Hansika Motwani
Hansika started her career as a child artist in TV serials such as ‘Shakalaka Boom Boom’, ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’, ‘Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chaand’ etc. Now she’s all grown up and is one of the most famous actress in the South industry.
